CMH provides health care — and much more to community

By News JOurnal staff

Providing outstanding patient care is what drives Clinton Memorial Hospital (CMH) employees — and often, that care doesn’t stop at the hospital doors.

From fundraisers to professional partnerships, CMH is heavily engaged in the health and well-being of the community.

Whether it’s the 5K fun run for a local charity, volunteer opportunities, helping fellow organizations who align with its mission, or donating to local events, CMH demonstrates every day that its giving culture has no limits.

What’s more, these efforts are often 100 percent employee-driven.

The hospital has a strong internal giving component. Leadership at every level within CMH strongly believes in providing support to worthy organizations within the community.

This year alone, CMH employees had a school supply drive and filled and donated 500 backpacks, a canned food drive and donated over 800 canned foods to Your Fathers Kitchen/Sugartree Ministry. Employees and medical staff adopted 25 children through the Clinton County Ho Ho Shop, and donated more than 500 hats, gloves and scarves to community members, just to name a few.

CMH employees are passionate about community endeavors and love to play a role in giving back.

“Clinton Memorial Hospital is very engaged in supporting both the community it serves, as well as the employees who provide that care,” said CEO Lance Beus.

CMH has given approximately $1 million to various charities in Clinton County in the past 10 years.

“CMH has been a staple in Clinton County for 70 years,” Beus added. “We are in the relationship business with our patients, physicians, vendors, each other and in our communities. We are proud to support our neighbors in an effort to make our community healthier.”

In addition, CMH gives back to its community by continuing to invest in the hospital to keep pace with advancements in healthcare through renovations, new equipment, and partnerships with other healthcare organizations.

CMH most recently signed an affiliation agreement with The Christ Hospital for cardiology coverage in its new $2 million interventional suite; invested $3 million to renovate its surgical suite; and the addition of the da Vinci surgical robot, are just some of the ways CMH is committed to providing quality care close to home.

Future projects include; a new pain management clinic and behavioral health unit.

“We look forward to many more years of serving the citizens of Clinton County, both inside and outside the hospital,” said Beus.
