What do you like most about Clinton County?

The people, places and things. The people are absolutely awesome and have welcomed me into this community. The places, well let me emphasize that we have such awesome and unique attractions. We have Agri-Culinary Tourism, horse shows, dog shows, third Friday events, the Wine Walk, alpacas, strawberries, wallabies, and so much more. The things I love — all the unique shops and boutiques, the diverse restaurants … the best! I overall just love Clinton County.

What upcoming CVB project are you most excited about?

There are several. First, we completed our strategic plan that was a huge undertaking. Second, of course, Rock the Block Wilmington. I am most proud of this because it was a vision that I had and we, the bureau, went for it. We are grateful to the fans who help make this happen, and this year we have two streets closed and it is going to be BIG. We have Winger and Autograph as the headliners, Quiet Riot, the Bullet Boys, Dirty Deeds AC/DC tribute, Wanted: A Bon Jovi Experience, Every Mother’s Nightmare, Pink Velvet Krush, Ultra Sound, Carnival of Sins: A Motley Crue Tribute, and Reeking Havoc. Follow us on Facebook – Rock the Block Wilmington — for more information.

Who in your life has been an inspiration to you?

Without a doubt and a second thought, my son. I was 40 years old when I became a mother and never thought I could have children, and God had other plans. He has taught me so much about love and about myself. He is truly the love of my life!

What did you want to be when you “grew up”?

I wanted to live in Manhattan and be a writer for Cosmopolitan magazine. I have always loved fashion and the industry. So when I grew up, I became a manager in the hotel industry. Next best thing, haha!
